Film Hair, Makeup and Prosthetics

My first job on a film set was back in 2009 when I was hired by the incredible, BAFTA-winning hair and makeup designer, Ivana Primorac as one of her crowd hair and makeup trainees on the set of Brighton Rock, a feature film which was set in 1960’s Britain.

I enjoy working on film sets as it requires a wide variety of skills including: historic/period hairstyling, wigs, afro-hair styling, prosthetics and makeup effects, running silicone, silicone painting , airbrushing and art finishing, barbering and men’s grooming – plus constant creativity, teamwork and problem-solving at a moments notice! It is a wealth of knowledge that takes many years to absorb and I enjoy the constant learning process that takes place for each job as they are all completely different.

I work in film production at hair and makeup designer level for TV commercials, branded content films, independent features and short films – and also at the level of hair and makeup artist, prosthetic makeup artist & makeup effects – plus I do a lot of crowd, dailies and main team positions for large budget films.
